| C-Bar Ranch Boer Goats has been located in Amarillo Texas since 1996. I raised and showed dairy goats for 23 years before changing over to boer goats full time in 1999. I have raised goats for 35 years and still learn something nearly everyday. |
My goal is to produce a quality meat animal that
has correct breed character with good structure
and muscle that can survive and reproduce on
pasture with supplements needed only in hard
times. I strive to produce an animal that can be
used to upgrade a herd through crossing, be
shown and produces kids that are economical to
use as a high protein low fat meat source. I
believe that both does and bucks are important to
produce quality kids. Goats are always changing
and improving so I feel that introducing new
blood from time to time is essential to the ongoing
success of a herd. I also believe that it costs the
same to feed a poor quality animal as it does to
feed a good quality animal so you should always
purchase the best quality animals that you can
afford. It is essential to cull animals that do not
meet your breeding expectations and I believe
these animals should either be used as meat or
sold as commercial animals. I strive to breed
animals together that will compliment each other
and produce an offspring that shows the best
traits of both. All animals are vaccinated, wormed
and monitored on a regular schedule to maintian a
healthy herd.
